Jonathan is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Specialist Hip Surgeon.
He studied medicine at New College, Oxford and Imperial College before completing his orthopaedic training in London. This was followed by fellowship training in lower limb reconstruction at the Université de Montréal in Canada and in young adult hip surgery at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London.
His specialist interests are in all aspects of hip surgery. He is experienced in advanced joint preservation techniques such as minimally invasive periacetabular osteotomy and hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) as well as hip reconstruction for other causes of hip pain in young patients.
When preservation of the joint is not possible, he is experienced in hip replacement using both the direct anterior (DAA) and posterior approaches to the hip, as well as revision (redo) surgery.
He has a particular interest in young patients with hip problems and complex surgery for failed hip replacements. He is involved in innovation and research in advanced hip preservation techniques as well as emerging hip technology and implants to improve patient outcomes.
